A Group For All Levels of Woodworkers

Founded in 1991, the Long Island Woodworkers is an association whose members share a common interest in woodworking. Membership is open to persons of all skill levels, from beginners to professional.

A Group With A Variety Of Activities

The Long Island Woodworkers (LIW) advances the arts and crafts of fine woodworking through education, programs, and activities focused on sharing the knowledge, skill, and experience of woodworkers and the utilization of such knowledge, skill, and experience to provide educational and community services.

Meetings feature guest speakers as well as members who share their expertise.

Meeting topics covered have included: raised panel construction, gluing, clamping, sharpening, finishing, turning, tool and jig demonstrations, bent lamination, etc.

In addition to monthly meetings we offer the option of joining special interest groups, a newsletter, seminars, field trips, Toys for Tots, a library with DVD's, an annual Show and Exhibition, and a wealth of new friendships.
