A Group For All Levels of Woodcarving
The Secret Society of Woodcarvers was founded in April of 2008 and is a special interest group of the Long Island Woodworkers. All members of S.S.O.W. have to also belong to the Long Island Woodworkers. S.S.O.W. members share a common interest in Woodcarving.
Membership is open to persons of all skill levels, from beginners to professional. The S.S.O.W. objectives are the same as those of its parent organization, the Long Island Woodworkers.
A Group With A Variety Of Activities
The Secret Society of Woodcarvers objectives are the same as those of its parent organization, the Long Island woodworkers. S.S.O.W. focuses on making woodcarving accessible to everyone.
Meetings feature guest speakers as well as club members who share their expertise. Many of the meetings are hands on. Topics cover the range of drawing your project to building and finishing it.
In addition to monthly meetings and demonstrations, we offer a wealth of new friendships.
