As someone who has filled in on an emergency basis for a meeting, I can tell you it’s not easy on a few hours notice to put together something that the members can hopefully enjoy, so well done Mike.
And while I enjoyed seeing and holding the box, which is an excellent one, the actual joining where the saw kerf was was sensational work. A nice job all around.

Daryl,
Thanks for your kind words. The last moment fire drill would not have been successful without the generous help of Jim Moloney moving “stuff” from Windows to an IOS environment. MM

I agree, nice job Mike. I uploaded the presentation file to the Members Only area: PDF files from Member Presentations so it can be viewed or downloaded.

Mike you saved the day. I was on Zoom and you came across as if you had prepared the presentation with time to spare. Well done.

I agree, well done. I’ve done exactly one band saw box… and I didn’t do the flocking! It definitely has its pitfalls. Honestly, I think this sort of “first time I did this, here’s what I found” type of presentation is really good for members of all skill levels to see. I think someone may be more apt to give it a whirl, as compared to being overwhelmed seeing an expert effortlessly do a dovetail or something. (Perhaps a bad example, but you get the idea.)

Thank you, Ben. Your observation about first-timer presentations is intriguing. In fact, it was exactly a sense of exploration that triggered my interest in bandsaw boxes… and fumble I did. Anyone else out there ready to take the plunge and share a first-time woodworking experience?
