I think the Club”s new TV worked out very well.It should even get better when we have the cabinet. This will really help our presentations.

The TV cabinet should be delivered to the barn the beginning of this week.

Thanks everyone! I agree that we should have all cables needed to hook up to phones, tablets, laptops, cameras for every meeting. I will make sure that happens and let Mike know to see what we have already and what we need to order. As for the cheat sheets and labeling wires, I 100% agree to that so that if one of us is not there to setup, there will be a cheat sheet with pictures and a description of how to hook up for any member to understand. I believe having the TV is much easier to hook up to compared to a projector since practically all electronics today can hook up with a HDMI cable or USB cable.
There will be ample storage in the new cabinet since it will be approx 6ft long x 5ft tall x 2ft deep.
The TV and all cables will be on one side and the other side will house the lathe, scroll saw, and camera with some other needed things for the club.

Definitely a welcome addition. Question: Do you have connectors for common phones and tablets? It would greatly expand show and tell capabilities!

If we don’t currently, it will certainly be put on the list to acquire. Good idea, Ben.

As the new junior back-up AV guy, I want to add that my goal is to remove much of the adventure experienced each meeting while setting up the various electronic connections. Minimally I hope to develop a cheat sheet for the configurations and get/make some color-coded or labeled wiring.

Good idea Mike. In the LICFM we often have very little show and tell, and much of what we do isn’t portable. We can’t have “open cabineting” nights. I always encourage guys to bring in pictures! An easy setup will make it easier for us in the big club too.

If we could get the Historical Society to make the Barn a hot spot we could look at videos on You Tube and other web sites
