Michael KronauHello sir or madam;
Some of you remember me about I introduced about myself in the woodworking club meeting last March 2nd. If not, my name is Mike Kronau. I have 0ver 30 years veteran at custom woodworking in my hometown area. I would like you to visit my website; http://www.michaelkronau.com about my custom woodworking. I am from Poestenkill is about 8 miles east of Troy. In my area where I live, the general of custom work and hign end market is relatively small and have been dried out since after 2008.
Therefore I decide to take a chance to start look in a new market in other area such as in the west of Long Island such as Port Washington, Mill Neck and Huntington area. I have been research in these area through a few interior designers, realtors and the residential contractor and also the hardwood veneer plywood supplier. I found out as they said for custom woodworking business for residential are great opportunity since people who have money have demand for various custom made to order to meet their requirements are in great demand right now.
However, I am planning to relocate my custom woodworking business from my hometown to maybe Huntington or south of Port Washington area in next year or so. But I can start get some works from there from those interior designers and the contractor in late April. I can have deliver the finished product to client’s premise from my hometown to there.
Actually I am looking for a fair shop rate price on west of Long Island area. Also I would like to hear about your experience of competitive curve in that area. As well as shop location such as property taxes and other overhead to run one man shop. Please state the location and land it’s zoning use and square footage of woring shop and storage building for property tax price – just roughly approximate.
In addition I haven’t able to find custom woodworking consultant for expertise area of custom woodworking business and area of marketing. Since of that in area of west Long Island; that was told about the general custom work are great market. So I assume I wouldn’t need the consultant.
Please you could help me for your wisdom for this subject.
Thank You,
Mike Kronau

Mike, look in Glen Cove or even Hicksville, they both have a large commercial area with buildings for sale and rent. Hicksville is easier for the traffic and travel end of it. Good luck, Charlie
