Currently, I am building a new workbench and I am using cross dowel fasteners to make the base easy (relatively speaking) to disassemble. This required some accuracy in drilling deep holes and I didn’t trust my “free hand” skills. I therefore made a couple of jigs to assist with this and they worked quite well so I’d like to share them here. Their use is described in the attached file.

Hey Bill,

Thanks for sharing! Can’t wait to see the new bench when it’s completed. Maybe we can view it during a Zoom meeting for Show and Tell!

Mike,

I’ve been savoring (obsessing) each step so the construction has gone very slowly. I’ll be happy to show it but, perhaps, not ’til next month (or July).
