FREE WOOD

My name is Eric and I was a part time woodworker based out of NYC. The shop space I worked in closed several months ago, leaving me without a space to work in. I haven’t been able to find a space, but have TONS of wood. It’s mostly small to medium turning blanks and some short boards.

I was wondering if your club or any members would be interested in putting it to good use aka lots of shavings and dust! I can deliver free of charge to a good home, it is mostly domestics with a few exotics in the mix.

The wood is located in NYC, but I am willing to deliver to people as I have a car. I have probably 30-40 turning blanks, some squares and some round cut. Dimensions would be as small as 4″Lx4″Wx2″H up to +12″ rounds that +3″ thick. A lot of it is various maples, some cherry, a little bit of ash, walnut and a few other miscellaneous species. All dry for years and ready to us. As for boards, mostly unfigured maple and walnut 1/2-1″ thick, 4-7″ wide and around 18″-30″ long. Probably another 20-30 boards. I also have some smaller slabs as well around 24″Lx24″Wx2-3″ thick.

All in all, this is probably 1-2 carloads full of wood. It’s difficult to take pictures of this all since there are so many pieces packed away in my small apartment now. I don’t mind if you share my email address publically with members. People who are serious can reach out to me to setup how to best get the wood to them. Again, this is free but a few bucks for delivery would be nice.
